Had originally planned to go out this weekend, but as I have just laid hands on the new Line Thru Trouts and the weather looks promising, I quickly took a day off. For once the weather forcast turned out to be correct, and I took off alone on the most beautiful autumn morning I have seen for a long while.

As I was alone in the boat I chose to fish with just 4 rods and with Line Thru Trout’s 30 cm on the end. The plan was to start in 2 – 6 meters of water, so two were set 1- 2 meters after the paravane, one 30 meters behind the boat and the last, weighted with lead went just under the boat.
It didn’t even go 10 minutes before the first bites were a reality. After 30 minutes 4 pike had turned up and that’s largely how the rest of the day continued. The bites poured in and the Line Thru literally got assaulted by the pike.
As the day wore on I rounded up 42 pike the biggest 102 cm and 7.16 kilos. Not a monster as hoped, but a lovely fish in good condition.
Most of the fish were taken on the Line Thru, so we can safely say “approved”. Unfortunately they could not resist the many pike teeth, so three of them went straight in the trash can after the trip. A semi-expensive experience of nearly 900 kr. Though it must be said that they go unbelievably well in the water, hook 90% of all bites, and the hooks are easy to get out.
All the pike were of course released.
The pike fever is high so if the weather allows we will take two days on the lake at the weekend – hopefully with some big pike on the way.
